Enhanced Elpas Reusable Tag for Infant Protection & High-Risk Patient Applications

VT announces the availability of its enhanced Elpas Active RFID/RTLS Reusable Tag.  The tag’s unique form factor and comfort makes it ideal  for protecting infants from abduction in maternity units or for the monitoring and tracking of high-risk patients who wander.

The tag’s dual technology transmitter emits  radio frequency (RF) messages plus infra-red (IR) messages that can be used to determine the location of the infant or patient to room level and sub-room level precision in open and enclosed indoor spaces without EMF interference to hospital equipment. The tag also has  a low frequency (LF) receiver that supports chokepoint area detection.

The Reusable Tag  supports Elpas2; VT’s new, innovative topology for backhauling RFID/RTLS security and safety solutions over wired or wireless Ethernet/Wi-Fi networks and also complements VT‘s growing portfolio of 433MHz Active RFID/RTLS tags for asset security and utilization, personnel and patient safety and remote sensor applications.

VT Updates EIRIS – Now Supports Elpas2

To encourage the continued growth and broad adoption of Elpas Active RFID/RTLS security and safety solutions, EIRIS Visibility & Security Management Software  now supports Lontalk as well as Ethernet network protocols. This gives EIRIS the flexibility to simultaneously receive and process RF and IR sub-room location data from Elpas Active RFID Asset, Personnel or Infant Protection tags over wired/wireless IT backbones or via Lontalk networks. 

EIRIS V4.6.3 now seamlessly handles hybrid network infrastructures that are comprised of Elpas1 LonWork fixed readers and devices and/or Elpas2 Ethernet enabled fixed readers and devices leading to the transparent utilization of these heterogeneous network types within the same facility. EIRIS V4.6.3 also contains all the functionality from any of the previous versions of V4.6 as well as major user enhancements in EV2. VT adds sub-room location accuracy with new Elpas2 High-Definition IR Reader.

 Visonic Technologies announces the immediate availability of its new Elpas2
High-Definition IR Reader. The device is designed to detect and relay Sub-Room Location data from Elpas IR-Enabled Active RFID Asset, Personnel or Infant Protection Tags to host applications; facilitating the real-time tracking of valuable fixed and mobile assets, high-risk patients as well as personnel or visitors 24 hours a day with pin-point accuracy.

VT Expands, Enhances QA Department

In conjunction with our growing Elpas2 Active RFID/RTLS product line, Visonic Technologies has expanded and enhanced our in-house Quality Assurance Department in order to support the continued goal of providing VT customers with the highest quality hardware and software products.

VT’s expanded in-house Quality Assurance Department is more than doubled its original physical operating space. “We have created a secure QA testing facility with state-of-the-art hardware capable of simulating real deployment conditions and to recreate difficult radio network conditions caused by different types of building construction or ambient RF noise” says David Fensterheim VP – Professional Services Group. ‘With our expanded facility, we are able to take a much more rigorous approach to quality assurance and are also able to dedicate more time to testing products before they are released for mass production.

VT is also on a mission to “Create Awareness” among our customers and partners of the important role they can play in our overall quality assurance process. “There’s nothing more valuable than having one of our partners be an on-site Beta tester,” says Fensterheim.” And as such, VT is eagerly seeking more partners to participate in our ongoing Beta testing programs”.

VT appoints David Fensterheim to head new Professional Services Group

Visonic Technologies today announced the promotion of David Fensterheim to Vice President of VT’s new Professional Services Group. Mr. Fensterheim will be a member of senior VT management and will report directly to President and CEO Michael Wasserstein. Mr. Fensterheim has previously served as VT’s Product Director and was extensively involved in the planning and launch of the company’s new Elpas2 network topology. Mr. Fensterheim has also held leadership roles in a number of other companies including ForSoft Ltd, The Formula Group and Geo Graph Ltd. He holds a B. Sc degree in Electro-Optics from the Jerusalem College of Technology and has served with distinction as an officer in the Israeli navy.

According to CEO, Michael Wasserstein, “David brings the experience and leadership necessary to lead our new Professional Services Group. Filling this role with someone of David’s caliber will help advance the commitment to service excellence that we want to instill in our professional services organization, as we strive to create superior value for both our customers and partners.”

In his new role as Vice President – Professional Services Group, Mr. Fensterheim will manage a global team of service specialists focusing on improving partner and customer satisfaction through the delivery of advisory services as well as through the application of VT’s industry expertise in technical delivery. Mr. Fensterheim’s main responsibilities will be to upgrade and extend VT’s professional support service offerings in the areas of business consulting, technical design, project management and commissioning, post-installation support and review, plus partner and customer training.

VT Adds Elpas2 RF Ethernet Reader to RFID/RTLS Porfolio

Visonic Technologies (VT), announces the immediate availability of the new Elpas2 RF Ethernet Reader. This 433MHz, RFID/RTLS reader is designed to detect and relay ‘Location’ and ‘State’ data from Elpas Active RFID Asset, Personnel or Infant Protection Tags to host applications over wired or wireless Ethernet/Wi-Fi networks to enable the real-time monitoring and tracking of assets or personnel.

The Elpas2 RF Ethernet Reader supports large tag populations in indoor office environments. On-board I/O ports enable the monitoring of one analogue alarm input and control of two open-collector digital switched outputs. The reader also supports XML messaging for integration with 3rd party applications plus full-duplex RS-485 data transmission.

After years in its cramped 4^th floor offices in North Tel Aviv, Visonic Technologies has upped desks & belongings and has moved to new headquarters in the heart of Israel’s ‘Silicon Valley.
